A family tradition.
A purpose of my own.
From watching my grandmother build her business to helping fellow shop owners build theirs.
I’m Aushalina, the owner of Rags2Riches—a preloved clothing boutique—and the person behind R2R Marketing. My story starts long before either business had a name.
It started with my grandmother.
As a little girl, I watched the grandmother who raised me make her living through her creativity. She attended craft shows with her hand-painted items and flower arrangements, then later opened a thrift store in Surrency, Georgia. That was about thirty years ago, and her store did well.
She was always looking for another way to bring in revenue. Even then, I felt there was something more: more people needed to know about her business. Websites and social media weren’t what they are today, but that lesson stayed with me. Having something wonderful to offer is only part of the story. People also need a way to find you.
Following her footsteps—with a little extra.
As the years passed, I realized that going back to my roots was where I wanted to be. I followed her path into owning my own business, a preloved clothing boutique called Rags2Riches.
But, as my grandmother always said, I was a little extra. I wanted to take things one step further: to use the knowledge and skills I had gained to help other owners like me.
I know what all those hats feel like.
When you’re a one-person business, you’re the buyer, photographer, customer service department, marketer and the person trying to make the numbers work. Keeping all of that moving while trying to pay the bills can be exhausting. I know, because I’ve been there.
I also know that an online presence and a physical shop can support one another. Your website and social media should help people discover your business, understand what makes it special and find their way to you—whether they shop online or walk through your door.
That’s why I created R2R Marketing. I want to help you make your business more visible, simplify some of the work behind it and make room for the hands-on part you love.
Faith. Persistence. An open mind.
My faith is part of how I approach business. I believe the ideas and abilities God gives us are worth caring for. For me, that means showing up, continuing to learn and remembering that accepting help is not giving up.
You don’t have to prove your dedication by doing every single thing alone.
The love and passion that got you started still matter. My hope is to help you protect a little more time for them, with thoughtful marketing and practical support from someone who understands the work behind a small business.
